Healing Hearts Horse Rescue and Youth Ranch’s primary focus is to serve emotionally disadvantaged children between the ages of 7 and 18, but all are welcome. These children are given the opportunity to work with horses that have been rescued from abuse and neglect or are unwanted. By working with horses with similar backgrounds to their own , children are able to heal emotionally from scars of their past.
Numerous studies of equine assisted programs similar to ours have proven that participating children significantly improve in their self-esteem, empathy, tolerance for stress,problem solving skills, impulse control and interpersonal relationships
